I am an Auto Service Technician and in the beginning Carolyn was delivering parts to the garage that I worked at. As years moved, I requested a transfer to the dealership in which Carolyn worked at.

Carolyn later left to pursue a different career as a wedding planner and over the years we kept crossing paths whether it was Facebook messaging or in passing on the street.

On March 29th, 2014 I asked Carolyn to join me to a local OHL hockey game, followed by dinner, and we have been together ever since. One night, we were having dinner at home, and Carolyn was on topic about weddings (her job). I had the ring already and approached her, got down on one knee and said`` How about planning your own wedding, will you Marry Me``

When it came to selecting a venue for the ceremony and reception, we previously visited Walters Falls Inn on multiple occasions and the decision was simple. The staff were great, the venue was easy to decorate, simplicity of the setup was amazing and it offered the opportunity to have an indoor wedding set up if need be. The most important factor in planning the event was to share our special day with our close friends, the emersion of our families and starting our journey for a new family.

When it came to divvying up the planning duties, Carolyn took on the responsibilities of decor, and dresses for girls, Shawn took care of guest lists and arranging guy’s suites and also helped along the way when any decisions needed to be made.

Like every bride and groom, we felt nervous in hoping we didn’t forget anything in the planning process. We went through everything 10 times over and over. On the day of the wedding, we felt nervous but happy that the day we were committing to each other had finally come and we were finally starting our lives together as a family. Our favorite part of the day was the ceremony, saying our vows, having a rose ceremony for Shawn’s girls and having our families and close friends sharing the day and witnessing the event. The day after, we felt relieved and elated that the event was a success and we were married!
