Specializing in Canadian, slow grown, fairtrade and Rainforest Protection approved flowers, Petals in Thyme owner, Abigail Hitchens CFD, CAFA (owner) has completed a total of 3 years of floral and floral art education and is a graduate of the Canadian Institute of Floral Design and holds CAFA credentials.  Petals in Thyme creates custom floral designs with artistic flair, telling your story through the art of flowers.

Abigail opened the doors to Petals in Thyme in 2012 and has been growing rapidly since.  She’s passionate about flowers and the science of flowers; but Petals in Thyme is unique in the sense that, where possible, she will look to source locally grown products. Their attention to detail, art and floral training along with social and environmental sustainability sets them apart from the crowd.  The business is built on a principal of sustainability - of helping others to grow and as such, they apply this to their own, local economy.  Petals in Thyme offers extended resources of amazing artists to help make your day come together, with locally sourced gifts such as pottery or jewellery, or a hand-crafted pergola to be married under.

There are many aspects to a day in the life of Petals in Thyme, being a professional florist and gallery owner.  My favourite part is when I get to meet with starry-eyed couples, sit with them and learn about them - their personalities, favourite flowers or hobbies…  About their pets and family members.  Every aspect of our clients is important, it is by learning about my clients that I can personalize their designs.  It is what inspires my creativity to create custom pieces designed soley based on the interests and personalities of my couples.

Weddings are about romance…  And there is only one chance at getting it visually flawless.   I live for and enjoy the challenge that weddings bring to me.  Each and every wedding is different; where some would say they are like snowflakes, I say they are like flowers!  No two weddings are ever the same and as such, they inspire my passion and creativity.  Flowers are the symbol of new life quintessentially they imbue a feeling of new life.  Let us help you celebrate your new beginnings as a wedded couple by telling your story in the art of flowers.
